Our Story

Sparking Connection

A long table of Amorai Collective members gathered for Taiwan Night, making tapioca taro balls together.

Welcome to Amorai Collective, a 501(c)3 non-profit, a sanctuary where hearts meet and souls connect. Our journey began in the vibrant, open-door culture of Asia, where our founder grew up in a home that never closed its doors to the community. Day in and day out, the house buzzed with the sounds of laughter, conversation, and the clinking of coffee cups, as guests flowed in to share meals, stories, and games. This rich tapestry of communal living planted the seeds for what would blossom into the Amorai Collective.

Moving to the States revealed a stark contrast — a world of nuclear households and scheduled interactions, where spontaneous visits and communal joy were rare. Nostalgic yet inspired, our founder envisioned a space that recaptured the spirit of those endless, shared days. Thus, Amorai Collective was born: not as a replica of that childhood home, but as its spiritual descendant — a modern-day open door, built for a culture that had quietly closed most of its own.

We started small: a handful of friends around a coffee table, then a living room, then a rented studio held together by borrowed chairs and well-worn yoga mats. What hasn't changed since that first gathering is the intention behind it — to build rooms where people are seen, heard, and held exactly as they are, without needing three weeks' notice and a calendar invite to get there.

Today, that intention has grown into a full slate of group classes, workshops, and well-being programming, but the spirit is the same one that filled our founder's childhood home: the door is open, there's always another chair, and you don't need a reason to come in.

Our Mission

Amorai Collective exists to spark real human connection in a world that has grown fluent in isolation. Through group classes, workshops, and well-being programming, we create low-barrier, high-warmth spaces where communication skills, emotional honesty, and genuine community can be practiced — not just talked about.

Our Values

Radical Hospitality

Everyone who walks in is a guest worth showing up for, no exceptions.

Practiced Vulnerability

Connection is a skill. We treat it like one — with practice, not just good intentions.

Everyday Ritual

Community isn't a special occasion. It's a Tuesday night, a shared meal, a repeated habit.

Whatever brought you here — curiosity, loneliness, hope, or a friend's insistence — consider this an open door. Come sit at the table. There's always room for one more.
